Vell Pricing Page Copy - GTM Positioning

This document contains recommended pricing page copy aligned with Vell's "Market" positioning (GTM execution, co-sell, demand generation) to differentiate from Feenix/Tackle/Suger (Build/Sell/Listing infrastructure).

Strategic Context

Activate $1,000/yr Listing infrastructure, basic private offers
Starter $20,000/yr Co-sell ops (ACE), premium metering, analytics

Marketplace Starter $149/mo ($1,788/yr) Listing creation focus
Marketplace Accelerate $299/mo ($3,588/yr) Content creation focus
Marketplace Command+ $799/mo ($9,588/yr) Full suite

Value Proposition vs Feenix

Competitive Intelligence (Internal Reference)

Feenix Model: - Founder: Ex-AWS ecosystem/alliances leader (similar background to Vell) - Funding: Likely VC-backed (accelerator participation, BD headcount, marketing spend) - GTM: BD-heavy, services + platform ("rent a Marketplace team") - Positioning: End-to-end Marketplace ops console (listing → offers → ACE → reporting) - Packaging: 12-month tiered contracts (Activate/Starter/Growth/Scale) + add-ons

Feenix Core Drivers: | Driver | What Feenix Does | Vell Response | |--------|------------------|---------------| | End-to-end MP ops | Single console for listing, metering, MPPO/CPPO, ACE, reporting | We match core control-plane + add deeper Agreement API usage and attribution | | No-code ethos | UI-driven config, onboarding wizard | Aligned; AgentCore pushes beyond "assistant" into true workflow orchestration | | GenAI for content | Listing copy, doc summarization, buyer materials | AgentCore + Brand Voice + multi-step orchestration is strictly more powerful | | Private offers | Strong MPPO/CPPO, renewals, metering automation | We support CPPO generation + renewal tracking; gap is full lifecycle (amend, expand, co-term) | | ACE management | "ACE opportunity manager" as pillar feature | We match on creation; differentiate on ACE data quality + conversion attribution |

Side-by-Side Positioning (External Messaging)

Capability Feenix (Build/Sell/Ops) Vell (Market/GTM)
Listing creation ✅ Full infrastructure Content optimization + SEO
Private offer management ✅ Full workflow (MPPO/CPPO) Request capture + CRM sync
Metering setup ✅ Full (incl. PAYG) Tracking + revenue dashboards
Co-sell ops (ACE) ✅ Manager UI ACE automation + templates + attribution
Custom storefronts ✅ "Buy with AWS" integration — (not our lane)
GTM campaigns ❌ Not a feature ✅ Full studio + social publishing
Partner intelligence ❓ Generic ✅ AI-powered ICP scoring + CleanRooms
Content attribution ❓ Basic reporting ✅ Multi-touch pipeline tracking
Workflow orchestration ❌ Helper AI only ✅ AgentCore + Brand Voice + plays
Multi-cloud ready ❌ AWS-only ✅ AWS-first, Azure/GCP on roadmap

"Use Both" Positioning

"Feenix owns the back office: listing infrastructure, private offer workflows, and metering. Vell is the GTM brain: AI-powered campaigns, co-sell enablement, and attribution that proves what's driving pipeline. Use Feenix to run your Marketplace. Use Vell to grow it."

"Replace" Positioning (For ISVs frustrated with BD-heavy, high-touch vendors)

"Tired of 12-month contracts and consulting dependencies just to run your Marketplace? Vell is the product-led alternative: self-serve, AI-powered, and built by an ex-AWS Marketplace practitioner who knows what actually works. No sales calls required."

Strategic Whitespace (Internal Reference)

Where Vell Wins

Feenix Limitation Vell Opportunity Tactical Move
Heavy AWS coupling; no multi-cloud story AWS-first but Azure/GCP-ready architecture Elevate "multi-cloud marketplace GTM brain" in roadmap; make Azure/GCP a public line item
GenAI as helper, not orchestration fabric AgentCore + Brand Voice + multi-step flows Ship 3 canonical "one-click plays" (see below) and demo these relentlessly
Narrow "Marketplace ops" frame We own "Market" GTM (demand gen + ops) Don't compete on ops parity; compete on pipeline outcomes
BD-heavy, consulting dependency Product-led, bootstrapped, fast iteration Position as "the platform that doesn't need a sales call"
12-month contracts as default Monthly + yearly flexibility Emphasize "start monthly, upgrade when ready"

Three Killer Plays (Ship These)

Instead of marketing "20+ capabilities," showcase 3 canonical workflows:

  1. ACE Co-Sell Play — "Launch an ACE-backed co-sell campaign for this listing"
  2. Auto-generate partner brief, one-pager, and AWS field enablement deck
  3. Create ACE opportunity with data quality guardrails
  4. Track attribution from content → ACE → closed deal

  5. Listing Launch Play — "Go live with a GTM-ready listing"

  6. SEO-optimized listing copy with Brand Voice
  7. Demo CTA + private offer request capture
  8. Social launch campaign (LinkedIn, X) + email drip
  9. 90-day content calendar

  10. Renewal Acceleration Play — "Prevent churn, drive expansion"

  11. Agreement Intelligence: parse contracts, flag renewals
  12. Auto-generate renewal outreach sequences
  13. Track renewal attribution + expansion pipeline

Known Gaps to Address

Gap Priority Resolution Path
Salesforce integration High (table stakes for serious ISVs) Ship after first 5-10 paying customers. See HUBSPOT_VS_SALESFORCE_COMPARISON.md for pricing analysis showing HubSpot Pro ($100/seat) matches Salesforce Pro on price with lower TCO
Listing creation wizard Medium Either partner with listing-setup shop OR add minimal JSON export
Full offer lifecycle (amend, expand, co-term) Medium Roadmap for GTM Command tier
Custom storefronts Low Skip; not critical for B2B ISVs, avoid web-builder rabbit hole

FAQ Updates

Q: How is Vell different from Feenix/Tackle/Suger?

A: Feenix, Tackle, and Suger focus on the "Build" and "Sell" phases—listing creation, private offers, and metering infrastructure. Vell focuses on the "Market" phase—generating GTM campaigns, finding co-sell partners, and tracking what content drives pipeline. Many partners use a Build tool AND Vell together for full coverage.

Q: Do I need to be listed on AWS Marketplace to use Vell?

A: Vell works best for partners who already have a listing (or are close to launch). Our AI uses your existing product docs, listing content, and brand voice to generate campaigns. If you're still in the Build phase, start with your listing tool and add Vell when you're ready to drive demand.

Q: What's included in the co-sell features?

A: Vell provides co-sell templates, partner enablement kits, and (in GTM Command) AI-powered partner discovery that scores potential co-sell partners by ICP overlap, product fit, and market alignment. We also integrate with AWS CleanRooms for secure account overlap analysis.

Q: How does content attribution work?

A: Vell tracks which content pieces (blog posts, social campaigns, emails) are driving demo requests, private offer submissions, and ultimately deals. You can see multi-touch attribution in your dashboard and prove GTM ROI.

Q: Can I use Vell with Salesforce?

A: Salesforce integration is on our roadmap (targeted after first 5-10 paying customers). Today, Vell offers full HubSpot CRM integration on all tiers — contact sync, deal tracking, custom properties, and content attribution. HubSpot Sales Hub Professional ($100/seat/mo) provides the best value at a comparable price to Salesforce Professional ($100/user/mo) with significantly more included features. See HUBSPOT_VS_SALESFORCE_COMPARISON.md for a detailed pricing analysis. Contact us for early access to the Salesforce beta.

Q: What Slack features are available?

A: GTM Accelerate includes Slack Knowledge Base sync — extract insights from conversations and feed them into your content strategy. GTM Command unlocks the full Slack integration: OAuth workspace connection, channel/thread/file extraction, reaction-based filtering, AI-powered sentiment analysis, and insights generation.

Q: Can I purchase additional AI credits?

A: Yes! All plans support one-time Token Pack purchases. You can buy additional credits without changing your subscription tier. Token Packs never expire and are applied to your account immediately.

Billing & Subscription FAQ

Q: What's the difference between monthly and yearly billing?

A: Monthly billing gives you flexibility to cancel anytime. Yearly billing saves you up to 30% (equivalent to 2+ months free) and locks in your rate for 12 months. Both options include the same features for your chosen tier.

Q: Can I switch from monthly to yearly billing?

A: Yes! You can upgrade to yearly billing at any time. When you switch, we'll prorate your existing monthly payment toward your annual subscription. You'll start saving immediately.

Q: Can I switch from yearly to monthly billing?

A: Yearly subscriptions are billed upfront for the full year. When your annual term ends, you can choose to renew monthly or yearly. We don't offer mid-term downgrades to monthly billing.

Q: What happens if I want to upgrade my tier mid-year?

A: You can upgrade tiers at any time! We'll prorate the difference between your current plan and the new tier for the remaining months in your billing cycle. For example, upgrading from GTM Starter (Yearly) to GTM Accelerate (Yearly) halfway through the year charges you 50% of the price difference.

Q: Is there a discount for longer commitments (2+ years)?

A: Contact our sales team for multi-year enterprise agreements. We offer additional discounts and custom terms for 2-3 year commitments, especially for GTM Command customers.

Q: Do you offer refunds?

A: Monthly subscriptions can be canceled anytime (no refunds for partial months). Yearly subscriptions include a 30-day money-back guarantee. After 30 days, we don't offer refunds but you retain access through the end of your term.

Q: Can I pay via AWS Marketplace?

A: Yes! Both monthly and yearly plans are available through AWS Marketplace. Payments are consolidated into your AWS bill, and you can use committed AWS spend (EDPs) toward Vell subscriptions.

Consulting & Advisory Services

Strategic Intent (Internal)

Why offer consulting? Feenix's early adoption was driven by "rent a Marketplace team" services. We don't want a consulting dependency, but a thin advisory layer serves as: 1. Cash flow wedge — Immediate revenue while SaaS scales 2. Playbook generator — Every engagement produces templates that feed back into product 3. Success story factory — Case studies and proof points for SaaS sales 4. SaaS pipeline — 80%+ of consulting clients should convert to subscriptions

Key constraint: All packages are remote, fixed-price, short-duration, and templatized. We're not building a services firm.

Consultant Profile

  • 8+ years AWS Marketplace technical business development (inside AWS)
  • AWS Certified: Solutions Architect Associate, Machine Learning Specialty, AI Practitioner
  • First-hand knowledge of what drives successful Marketplace GTM — and what's vendor marketing fluff
  • Built this because the existing tools (Tackle, Feenix, Suger) solve "ops" but not "GTM"

Consulting Packages

Revenue Model & Market Sizing (Internal Reference)

Market Reality

Total Addressable Market (TAM): - Total AWS Partners: ~18,000 - Active Marketplace Sellers: ~5,400-7,200 (30-40% of partners) - Not locked into competitors: ~3,200-4,300 (after Tackle, Suger, Clazar, Feenix share)

Realistic Serviceable Market: - Year 1 capture potential: 1-2% = 32-86 customers - Year 2 capture potential: 3-5% = 100-215 customers - Year 3 capture potential: 5-8% = 160-345 customers

Honest assessment: This is a niche market. You're not building a unicorn. You're building a profitable, defensible business with deep expertise moat.

Feenix Adoption Insight

Feenix's early growth was driven by services + platform, not pure product-led growth: - "Rent a Marketplace team" = lower barrier to entry for ISVs - Consulting created implementation success stories - Services revenue subsidized product development - BD-heavy motion required outside capital

Vell's counter-model: - Product-led, bootstrapped, solo-founder - Consulting as wedge (not core), converts to SaaS - Lower CAC via content marketing and AWS partner network - Faster iteration, opinionated product, no enterprise sales motion

Unit Economics Targets

Metric Year 1 Year 3 Notes
SaaS CAC < $300 < $200 Content-led, no paid ads
SaaS LTV $3,000 $5,000 Avg 18-24 month retention
LTV:CAC Ratio 10:1 25:1 Improving as brand builds
Consulting Margin 75% 80% Solo delivery
Blended Gross Margin 70% 80% SaaS scales, consulting stabilizes
Monthly Churn 5% 2% Early churn expected
Consulting → SaaS conversion 60% 80% Key success metric

Path to $3.5M ARR (Year 5-6 Target)

Lever Contribution Customers/Clients
Core SaaS (avg $4K ARR) $1.6M 400
Enterprise/Custom (avg $20K ARR) $400K 20
Consulting Retainers (avg $90K/yr) $900K 10
Token Packs + Add-ons $600K
Total $3.5M 420 SaaS + 10 retainers

Market share required: 420 ÷ 4,000 addressable = 10.5%

Feasibility: 10% share is aggressive but achievable with: - Strong AWS partner network referrals - Content marketing establishing thought leadership - "Anti-Feenix" positioning for product-led buyers - Multi-cloud expansion (Azure/GCP) expanding TAM

Why You're Not Micro (But Not VC-Scale Either)

Scenario Revenue Valuation (5x) Owner Take (70% profit)
Lifestyle $500K/yr $2.5M $350K/yr
Growth $1.5M/yr $7.5M $500K/yr
Scale $3.5M/yr $17.5M $700K/yr

Bottom line: At $1-3M ARR, you're a highly profitable small business with an exit path via acqui-hire (AWS? Tackle? Salesforce?) or strategic sale. You're not a micro-business. You're a niche market leader.
